The Start of PDP

The module I was placed in for PDP was called the "LifeWorks" module. It was based in Coquitlam, B.C. and the philosophy of the module was around social justice, social responsibility, and social emotional learning (SJ, SR, SEL). At the beginning we spent a lot of time creating community within our group and learning about each other. We did an activity called "Me-Bags". Every day a different person would bring in a bag with items that represented them so that they could explain who they were to the rest of the group. Now at the end of PDP, I feel very close to all of the people in my module and I am proud to call them colleagues.

Pictures above:
1) We created a Charter of Rights and Responsibilities. This represented the type of learning we wanted to happen in our year of practicum and how we wanted to be as teachers by the end of it.

2) In our classrooms what does it....feel like, look like, sound like? We worked as a class to come to a consensus on what we wanted our classrooms to be like in a general sense.

3) As an activity we were divided into groups and given just newspaper. We were asked to use only the newspaper and come up with the representation of the type of teachers we wanted to be. Some groups did a skit or a song. Our group decided to make a tree. The sun is the "inspiration", the leaves on the tree are "ideals" and the leaves falling off the tree are ideas that we want to let go of as a professional.
