September Continued...

In September I was getting to know the students, observing my SA's teaching style, learning the routines, and gradually teaching more and more as the weeks got closer to October. During this time I was also planning the units I was going to teach during my full immersion. My very first unit started in September and I surprised myself by choosing to first teach Science (I was never great in Science). I am not an expert in science, but I am happy to say that the three science units were my absolute favourite to teach. During my practicum I created and taught units on:
- Science: Ecosystems, food webs/chains, water cycle, pollution
- Language Arts: Poetry
- Language Arts: Short stories and letter writing
- Math: Large numbers
- Math: Basic input and output machines
- Heath and Career Education: Bullying, Halloween Safety, Fire Safety
- P.E.: Volleyball
- Art/Drama: Fall Art, Halloween Art, Statue skits
- Social Studies: Individual vs. collective past, early humans
